World renowned for our work building race winning pistons, Wiseco utilises experience from a diverse background of the most sophisticated engines in venues from Formula 1 to Supercross to design and manufacture the highest technology pistons available. Extensive engineering goes into each Wiseco Automotive part to provide the maximum torque and horsepower ever driver wants. We offer Custom Pistons and Rotating Assemblies for a broad range of applications from the most popular Domestic models to Sport Compact, and Drag only use applications.
Our Sport Compact pistons are made from dedicated forgings produced in-house to give you a light weight piston with superior strength and optimal design. Being the multivalve piston technology leader, the line features specially designed valve pockets, complex dome and crown shapes, the steel nitride/napier xx rings and optimized skirt profiles. The pistons come standard with our ArmorGlide® coating material for reduced friction and noise, freeing up horsepower.
Features
- Valve pocket designs allow maximum flow around the valve, allowing the use of oversized valves and high lift cams.
- Piston crown shapes are designed to promote the maximum intake charge efficiency through a scavenging mixture ‘Cross Flow’ during intake and exhaust valve overlap. More fuel and air equals more horsepower.
- Piston domes are designed for optimal quench during the compression/ combustion cycle, resulting in resistance to detonation and pre-ignition. The end product is longer engine life and increased horsepower potential.
- Precision machined ring grooves with proper orifice/ accumulator volume feature calculated groove root diameters and axial widths, providing excellent surface finish and flatness, maximum ring seal, and minimized blow-by and oil consumption.
On a few engine fitments, such as Honda B/K-Series you'll notice that compression ratios are given in ranges. This is due to various engines in the series producing different compression ratios based on numerous factors (deck height, stroke, head gasket thickness etc.) For example with Honda K-Series, the lower value is for K20A/K20Z applications, and the higher value K24A.
