    Alright guys,

been on here for a while now and thought id start a build thread  its nothing special just your average Civic. Im a student so the progress will be slow, but hopefully if i can get enough shifts in this summer the car won't look half bad.

So i bought the car off another member on here, it was pretty much a quick decision, so after looking at a few pics online me and mate went to view it, seemed in alright condition, had a few problems like passenger door not opening with central locking and window not working, few dings and scratches but for the price i payed it was a pretty good buy so i left a deposit and picked it up a few days later

On the drive home we noticed the tracking was out BAD and the car would pull to the right a little  which was the reason the front tyres were raped, it also came with a set of 17" bk racing alloys, not realy my thing so i knew these were going ASAP, theyre for sale now aswell if anyone likes em.

    How i bought her

It came with a EK9 replica grill aswell, from toyosports so i got started the same night to get it on, removing the bumper took extra long because there was a screw holding one side up for some reason  but once i got it out i dropped half the bumper, driver side bolt refused to come loose but i worked around it.

Sorry for the crap pics, they were taken off my HTC desire as i don't have a proper cam -_-

The grill isnt a perfect fit, it sits there nicely but the clips on the bottom arent big enough to actualy clip into the bumper as it looks like its suposed to do, but im not complaining it was free and its toyosports so what do you expect eh

Got bored one night so decided to tilt the spoiler, read the thread, bought some m6 nuts and bolts and got crackin

I never tilted it to much as you do have to watch the spoiler when your opening the hatch as it is so i left it like this, looks much better IMO and well worth the pennies and 15mins it took me ^_^

I only work part time and i pay for all my stuff myself so i only can afford parts after i pay my bills, rent, dogs etc

I knew i needed new rims as the 17" were just retardly gay, so i spent weeks looking around for a bargain, after getting outbid on everything on ebay i finaly snapped up a set of ek4 vti fans got them off ebay from BHP factory, basicly japshops ebay store. The rims are mint, one has slight curbing and a little paint bubbling but i plan on spraying em white anyway so il give em a refurb later on, 3tyres were great 1 is prety much on its limit so need that changed soon, not bad considering i paid 110 for the rims and 30 for delivery.

so i paid for em mid-day and was shocked to find the courier waiting for me at my work the next morning with my rims good service, properly chuffed

The rims when i got em

Took em home and wanted to fit em but found out i couldn't because the 17" rims came with tapered locking nuts in each wheel, so now i have like 16 locking nuts, atleast i can never run out

Got on the phone to a mate who had a cousin who had a mate who worked on rovers :Aghast:hmy: so he hooked me up with enough ball seated nuts to get my rims on, Sorted

Off came the 17" and on went the 15", Much better In dire need of lowering now though.

The exhaust on the car is seriosly f**ked the backbox is rotting away and it has a blow so i looked around for new exhaust, wanted something nice and after having a browse on civiclife i saw a tanabe super medallion racing backbox off a ek4. got straight to the point offered a price deal done and arranged to pick it up 2days later i hate messing people around so when i say im buying something i most defo will show up with the monies and do the deal so big thanks to Rogue Status, drove down before work and saw his car, its sexy as fook hopefully mine will get to that stage one day :headbang:

Proper chuffed with my new exhaust

After looking around for a new manifold found another bargain on here, so after college i went down to meet david aka Jap_crazy and bouht a Jperformance 4-2-1 manifold :wotnana:

moneys abit tight right now so i plan on installing my manifold and backbox and keeping my cat and stock b pipe, il upgrade to a decat and custom b pipe after it goes through its MOT <_<

Want all these by christmas aswell

    Shopping list:

Coilovers, either cheap raceland or a decent 2nd hand set

    Decat pipe

    Custom b pipe

Cold air intake, Tempted by the US racing one on PPW or might just buy a cheap ebay intake if i find a decent one

    Rear tow hook

    Mugen replica poly front lip

    Type-R replica poly rear lip

    HID kit

    JDM amber fogs

    F1 style wing mirrors

    New tints

Decent sound system, nice 12" sub, amp, and door speakers with alpine head unit

    To do list:

fit my Jperformance 4-2-1 manifold and Tanabe super madalion racing back box, keep the stock b pipe and cat

EK9 conversion on the rear lights

    de-wiper it

give it a good valet and have it professionaly mopped

spray the door strips, handles and plate recess

hopefully the car comes along nicely by christmas

have lots of plans, they will be slow but il get there

    Peace, Zen

going by your list, your wallets going to be raped!
  5. ZenYo Senior Member ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆

Cheers guys, I know a lot of VSM's look the same but mine will be different when it comes to performance, that's where my main focus will be after iv done the lil things. Il keep it clean anyway, I don't like following the crowd
  6. ZenYo Senior Member ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆

alright guys got some coilovers finally :headbang: but sadly one of the locking nut rings is missing, i suppose thats what you get when you buy 2nd hand, but im on a budget and for starter coilovers theyre not half bad!

im going to give em a good clean up with a wire brush and wd40 then send the springs off to get chemicaly cleaned and powder coated red again, as you can see theyve seen better days!

since one of the rings are missing does anyone know if i can use the lower one in place of it? as i don't think they actualy do anything but correct me if im wrong.

anyway heres the pics, car wil be completely diferent in a couple weeks and will not be looking so standad anymore :tdvtec:

Those look abused dude, how much did you pay for them and what make are they?
  8. sukhyvti Top Contributor ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Looks like your missing 3 collars thats if the rear 2 are height and preload seperate in terms of adjustment like the fronts are.
  9. ZenYo Senior Member ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆

i thought the rears are missing aswell but then i thought surely i can't have both missing but im going to research them and see whats missing, pretty screwing about this now <_< how fucked is it to drive with them like that?
  10. Shuthan Club Veteran ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Lets just say I be scared to drive 2 miles in them, they also look like ebay coilovers
  11. ZenYo Senior Member ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆

they do look rough mate but the springs are what is mainly rusty and just looking ugly rest of it is in good nik just needs a good clean, il powder coat the springs and theyl look alot better.

as for price i paid a fair bit not alot but a decent amount for 2nd hand coilovers which turn out to be half fucked, so its safe to say im prety pissed at this moment in time! :wotnana:

ahhh yeah and there hayame coilovers mate!
  12. Shuthan Club Veteran ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

won't hurt to try them on once they are powdercoated and etc, if they are fine in terms of lowering and no noises, I would say they are good to go

    Hayame? never heard of them.

yeah thats what im thinking of doing, aslong as they don't kill me il be alright :gaymon: the guy was using them before and they were fine so im hoping there alright, still pissed about missing collars. and yeah same here, never heard of hayame did a quick search and they seem half decent, made in japan, have tokico shocks and the spring rates arent to bad, seem like a decent company, just seems like a small company not many have heard of!

    Small update

Bought some replica lips off japshop, they were advertised on by [email protected] as being poly and 60quid posted, i thought fuckin bargain getting those, so i ordered a EK9 rear and mugen front, came to work one day had them waiting turns out to be HC racing ABS ones! i was annoyed but then i thought i paid 125quid all in with paypal fees etc so i can't realy complain, just surprised that the guy doesnt know the difference between poly and ABS :disbelief so il be watching who i buy my stuff off, the fitment isnt great and really i should of sent them back but iv drilled holes in them now and fitted them so il see if there returnable (doubtful) otherwise il be keeping them! :wotnana:

also bought a benen tow hook off EPRacing, turned out to be fake so sent it back got a full refund, its crazy how good replicas are getting, boxed up and everything

Now i don't really like stickers but i wanted some custom ones made up of my "company" so i went and got some, im a student and the plan is to finish university and get some experiance behind me and open my own garage, you can't get anywhere unless you put yourself out there and i already do stuff on mates cars when i have free time etc so i thought id advertise my shit, there abit to big and i think next il be getting something abit more subtle but the whole point was to get noticed!

    ZenTuned Motorsport YO :headbang:

Bought some team heko wind deflectors aswell, i rate these highly, really good fitment

Got a TRS tow strap off ebay, going to mount it to the crash bar so its actually functional, ordered one got two sent out so chuffed!

Start university next week so il be going back to broke, part time work and alot of bills going out, if i hadnt of had so many vet bills to pay because of my dogs and splashed 500quid out on a turbo for my BMW drag build this would of been a thread about me getting a b18c4 :tdvtec: but that will have to wait till after christmas or sometime next year.

hopefully end of month il have a sportex b pipe (cheap i know but it will do for now) and i can fit my tanabe back box and 4-2-1 and decat. looking for a new intake aswell.

I cleaned up the coilovers going to go over them again with my dremel to clean them good then il be fitting those and il have a decent setup. Need to pick up a rear strut brace from my mates garage aswell so all of that can go on.

Need a new central locking motor and electric window motor as both don't work on the passenger side, and a new parcel shelf so i can get rid of the chavtastic speakers hanging in there! hoping to get all of this done by christmass so its in reasonable condition. Not a bad lil honda though over all. :gaymon:

Good start mate! you going to colourcode the lips and grille etc??
  16. chelt_scene Club Veteran ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

    still in 4x4 mode :Tongue:h34r: :Tongue:h34r:

    Those coils look battered man!
  17. ZenYo Senior Member ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆

Cheers lads, I plan on colour coding the door handles, door strips and wing mirrors, keeping the grill and lips black, and yeah they look proper rough! But its only because the springs have lost all there colour and are rusty in the pics! Once iv cleaned them up they will be fine, its just cosmetic. They're just to get me slammed, in the future when the build gets more serious il upgrade for a new setup.
