Had it machine polished and 'Kamikaze' coated. Was always frustrated that no matter how much I cleaned it, it always looked dull. Apparently, the car had been through too many car washes when the paint was still soft, so was covered in swirl marks, halos and holograms.

Found a detailer who - amazingly! - was based just 5 mins away and whose attention to detail was exemplary. Had the car for the best part of a week, but the result was an 11 year old car with an as-new mirror finish. Love it!

Swirl marks are caused by contact washes. Ideally a minimum of 2 bucket method should be used when washing a car to minimise swirl marks and a mitt rather than a sponge wash.
    The end results amazing though.

Yes, 100%. The damage was caused by the original owner. A two bucket wash is what I've always used, which is why it was so disappointing to see the results. Very rewarding now, though!
