This maybe a Newbie Question but would it be a simple swap to put a K20 (Type-R) into a 1.4i (EP) ?
nope.. lots and lots of differences. Would be cheaper to go an buy an EP3
Cheaper and easier to get an EP3 ypu can pick them up for about 5 grand now anyway
The engine isnt exactly cheap nor is the gearbox and the rest of the stuff, might as well buy an EP3. Save you all the trouble.
buy a Type-R!!
if the 1.4 is standard at the moment then there isnt much point, you would be cheaper buying a Type-R
however, if you've modded the 1.4 quite heavily already, then a K20 swap might be the way to go....you can get a K20 swapped into it for about
EP3 shell has less sound deadening and more seam welding.
no point dropping a motor to make a car which already exists.
what he said, far to much hassle an cost to make a sub standard version of what alreadt exists tbh
i don't agree
J-Ho's EP1 for example....
how do you know this guy hasnt modded his to the same extent?
vtrue to be fair, but still ,would have to be loads done that couldn't be swapped over IMO. each to thier own tho sometimes you get to far into it to part from it hehe
What was unique about jho's? I thought it was just very low! That said, I never read his build.
I'm pretty sure somebody would know their only option would be to engine swap if their car was SO custom.
was looking for a pic of this motor do you have a link??
