I did actually get some rig shots done but they didn't come out the way I wanted them to so we're just going to rearrange another shoot!

some awesome shots there mate what lens did you use in these shots? they look very sharp
  7. afimaging Junior Member ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

I shoot on a Canon 5d 2nd Generation and the majority were taken with a Canon 17-40L. I think the very top one was taken using the cheap 50mm lens.

They're a little bit sharper than usual because I stopped the lens down to around F8 in order to get it in it's like.. sharpest range if you get what I mean? I only usually shoot wide open with the 50mm when I'm indoors/in shade!

Glad you like them dude! I appreciate the good words!

Yeh there good dude when i shoot sometimes they don't look as sharp as some other peoples shots.. I have a 1.8 50mm which is always sharp. But my sigma 10-20mm lens never really seems that sharp.. Kinda need an in between lens one thats wide and sharp i rekon

On your sigma, try putting the aperture range at about F11/16. As it's a lens technically designed for landscapes, it optimum optical quality isn't achieved wide open at like F3.5 for example. Stop it down and all the chromatic aberration and sharpness just gets 100 times better.

yeh dude that's what i've been doing recently seem a bit better just hard when u wanna take a shot but u have to get your tripod out

Ahh, I know what you mean man. I was shooting at higher than normal ISO on these ones, so much shutter speed was pretty fast. Other than that, I'm not sure what else I could suggest to get your shots sharper! Other than the standard procedure of post processing!

what i find i'm doing a lot is messing with the f stop a lot and not taking multiple images over exposed and under exposed images and layering them together as i don a lot of touching on photoshop upping the fill light and exposure which takes the quality out

If you wanna try and grab the exposure you're after in the post processing phase, try underexposing more than anything. You can recover anything hidden in the shadows but you can't recover anything in a highlighted area.

I like doing HDR too but sometimes it's hard to properly map the fusion, so I always prefer to underexpose a tiny bit and process from there! Thats the same thing I did with the first shot!

    What's the owners name?

Saw this in Asda the other day and can see that you're in Weston (So am I). I drive a blue EK with bomex spoiler.

I'm from a few miles south of Weston but the owners name is Guy Warren! We just did the photoshoot in Weston as it was easier and a nicer location!

Think you're the first person to say Nice and Weston in the same sentence!

Looks really nice though, only think letting it down is the kanjo sticker!

It's not bad! There's some really tidy locations to shoot in and because it's a coastal town, the backdrops are usually pretty as hell. If you fancy shooting sometime just gimme a shout, I've got a shoot booked tomorrow with a 2nd Generation Ford Escort RS thats gonna be on the nice end of my rig, so I'll make sure I post a couple of shots up here for you to consider!
