    Hey folks,

It's been no secret that I've stayed away from the forum for a long-time now, and furthermore our beloved club, built with years of blood, sweat and tears - has been in decline. We're quiet, we're stagnant and old-standing issues; such as missing forum images; have sat unresolved.

I believe today is the day to cast a light down the dark tunnel, and to start gaining focus and direction once again.

I joined this community back in the days of the Accord Owners Club, quickly headhunted by CJ to join the staff and start fixing issues with the original forum, which eventually lead to the decision to formally throw in together and create Honda Karma, the club we are today. Years of continual improvement and refinement has left us with an extremely feature-rich forum, packed with countless years of knowledge and insight into Honda models across the globe, especially so since our merger with Civic Life - we're amongst the top informational resources worldwide. But nothing new has happened here, in a very long time.

Since my days of pushing hard and constantly on this forum, my attention swapped to @H-Tune, once a small web hosting client for me as a freelance developer, to becoming my day job, and today being the company I own and run with a team of 7 staff - itself having grown into one of the largest Honda part specialists in the world. Suffice to say, what first began here as a member of a forum for my Accord, grew into something which very much changed the course of my own life.

I won't go deep into the reasons for my absence, suffice to say that after a couple of years - I and @Ichiban have finally decided to go our separate ways. Things simply weren't working for us, and if we kept beating a dead dog, we'd have probably lost our friendship over the running of the forum too. Yesterday, a deal was finalised and I'll be formally taking over the club, together with @SpeedyGee and some other familiar faces too which also haven't been around for a while.

We've just spent around a week offline, our 3 year old server has a major hardware fault which has been patched up to get us online, but in the long run, we're going to have to make more permanent changes. In the meantime, @SpeedyGee will be joining me at @H-Tune HQ, with a two year old backup of the forum - for a long night of coffee and coding trying to see if from it we can rescue the huge amount of missing images on site. That's our top priority first and foremost.

This is all quite fresh, and we have plenty to discuss and plan with all the staff - there is one thing I can say; the Honda Karma I remember, that club I worked so hard to build, is coming back, and we're going to do better than ever.

We'll be announcing more in the next couple of weeks, but first, I think everyone would like to see this forum fixed. We'll report back soon.

    - Leo

CJs knowledge and enthusiasm for Honda will be a massive loss to the forum, but things couldn’t continue how they were.

Great news that there is a plan to revitalise the forum and good luck to all those involved.

Young man, in that time we've had something like 4 different forum developers from around the world have a look at the problem and none of them managed to fix the issue.

It is a very complicated problem and there is a very real possibility that a solution is not possible. We will, however, endeavour to do our best to get it fixed though.

I really thought it was all over for Honda Karma when it down for several days.

Although I haven't been part of the forum for as long as some people, it has been an excellent knowledge database for running and maintaining my Accord.
I couldn't have done it without you guys.

I wish you well, we are all here for any support.
Hope you can fix the bugs that has plagued this forum for a long time.

It does seem like the image issue is impossible to fix, and the only way to restore them would be to call up an old backup before the issue started.
Although alot of recent information would be lost.

Thank you for the update and many thanks to Ichiban and all the other long standing members who have created a really worthwhile site.
Things in life change and a change becomes a challenge for all those involved and departed - best wishes to all in pastures new and the new challenges here.
I am a very small user of this site being a bit old for the greater mechanical endeavours carried out but do enjoy seeing others interest and achievements.
    Keep up the good work.

This may sound a bit crazy, but even if there's a way of just dumping all the images (with generic filenames if need be) somewhere, I am sure quite a few of the threads could be updated by the users themselves? Really do appreciate and respect that you may have already thought of this.

The issue is with the way the forum software links the location of the actual file into the post. It generates a hashmap and then stores that. Unfortunately, hashmaps are unique and cannot be recalculated. Hence the problem being a tricky one to resolve. There is actually no problem with the actual images themselves, there are all present, it's just the links to them are not correct.
