I wonder why Castrol files the engines for the first time?

I have used Honda Edge 0W-20 for a while but did not realise it filed the engines as Castrol claim in data sheet above

I'm surprised that the new Jazz is returning much the same fuel economy as our old '06 JDM L13 idsi CVT GD1. On mixed driving from rural to motorway to city driving it would regularly return 54-57mpg, on Nokian weatherproof tyres and Honda 0w-20. Great little car.
