numberplate locations

    now im getting my front bumper completly smoothed and i was going to put my numberplate on the pasenger sun visor. im pretty sure this is alright to do and not illigal becouse as long as it can pass an MOT its fine isnt it?


    and the MOT rules are it must be visable from the front. which it will be.


    what do you lot think is it ok? has any one had any experiences

    Has to be mounted on the front of the car IIRC

    I read that it can't be obscured behind glass, so no it will be illegal.

    MOT says from 20m clearly visible and front of the vehicle. This is often classed as bottom of the windscreen or the sunvisor.


    It should in theory pass an MOT, but it usually doesn't, and if you get an anal copper he'll give you a 60 quid fine (used to be 30). I've been running with mine in window for a while now and had no trouble. Got some gripe in the EG6 but nothing as yet in EJ.


    DVLA doesn't define what "front of the car" is either, as the windscreen is the front, but the police won't have it.
