gotta be centre and reflective ?

funny them alfas etc with side mounted plates ....

it has to be cleary displayed at the front of the vehicle not behind and glass etc, have proper reflective properties correct size font blah blah blah

kit car or similar sticker numberplates can be mounted onto bottom of the window or bonnet etc and be fully legal if thats something perminant you want to do.

again, grey area if its somewhere extremely slanted or awkward

Its up to the copper I think, I have never had one even mention it when I get stopped. You have to make sure you arent pushing your luck with import plates if you don't want trouble. You need the correct import size plate, correct style and size font, correct letter spacing, needs to be in the ceter of the bumper at the front, etc. It helps if your plates have the BS code on them as well. Go to www.demonplates.com, thats where I got mine and I've never had any problem.
