When turning engine on in my garage (15-30% inclination upwards), with the start button, occasionally, momentarily there is a high pitch grinding noise . Is this normal?? What can this be?? Hope one can assist. CR-V 2013 auto 2.0l petrol.
Can try. Meanwhile if there is/are similar cases would be happy to get some information on this issue and maybe steps for resolving this. Maybe a service bulletin if one exists???
Honda TSB Number:A09-010.V5 Date:Feb 25, 2017 Failing Component: Engine (Pws) Summary: Service bulletin - replace the VTC actuator if the engine rattles loudly for 2 seconds during cold start-up. ?? Revised pdf to version 5 - latest Here is the pdf in case there is the respective European one.
Will change first the external ATF filter and ATF just in case my problem is related to clogged ATF filter before proceding to the above. (ATF was already done so I might only do the filter, need to check history) Revised the USA pdf to version 5 above. Hope someone can upload the respective European SB.
I've never heard of a clogged ATF filter. ATF does not get all that dirty. Also not sure how an ATF issue would sound the same as an engine noise when turning on. Worth changing as part of preventative maintenance though.
Reason see bulletin below. Don't believe this is either, what you said but will do it anyway. Both related to cold start noise.
When you empty ATF out, you only get out what is sat in the gearbox itself, there plenty move in cooler pipes etc. So ideally you want to repeat the flush two or three times with a 5-minute drive in between (to dilute the ATF).
How much oil remaining?? Probably will use magnefine filter for the first 15000km and then change that to OEM just a thought. Have 2 originals at home. One plastic and the newer with metal casing.
Noise in summer disappeared. Purchased Honda transmission oil for my next service. Filter was already discussed.
