Hey guys just wanted some thoughts on an idea I've been thinking about for a while

I've been thinking about getting an EK9, but too be honest there are so many of them about nowadays i know paying the current prices would be a huge mistake because prices are bound to drop a fair bit in the next 6-12 months. Much like what has happened to the DC2

Now they never came from the factory in Milano red and i was thinking, would building a milano red EK9 be a good idea

Im not talking about a simple exterior paint, im talking a full strip down and bare metal respray as though it had come from the factory. I've been in talks with greg howell at southam bodies (This guy is a legend in the VW body scene and that is saying something) and he thinks it would be a fantastic idea

I would keep it pretty much OEM, aside from a few small tuning and handling upgrades. I think something like this would be an awesome project and be worth the financial outlay

    What do you guys think?

hat to be a ball ache but someone has already resprayed one milano, but it looks incredibly tasty so i think its a winner

Just look at an ek4 EK9 lookalike in MR and decided. Sure it will look cool! Or you could go for something non factory? Some really cool nice colour!

Its not the same being an EK9 rep though

I would want to keep it factory, that would be the point in going for MR

Yeah I know its not the same but you get the idea. Not as uber cool as an EK9 in MR but yeah.

Buy a scabby EK9 and have it resprayed, so it's an MR EK9 and not just a replica.

i think milano red is a terrible colour as standard anyway, there are so many other nicer OEM colours, midori green for example
