Guys, I am on the market for above torque wrenches so I can torque bolts in hard to reach spots. Last week I did a MFT change on Zoran's car and you can't torque the nuts as the space isn't there to use a traditional socket. I had a look a eBay it refused to buy German tools anyone got a good source for a good wrench?
Thanks doc the clearance of crow foot spammer and then the torque wrench will take up the limited space between the gearbox casting the cross member ...
Looks like it but I need to find one which is solid and won't lose its calibration for atleast two years.Span -on are way too expensive. just need to find the inbetween.
Snap-on are very good but as you say they're expensive. I find they're a little hard to get hold of as well, not many places stock them outside of trade companies. If you do find something suitable I'd be interested to know what you get as after a bigger one myself.
I remember this when I changed the MTF on mine...in the end I just tightened to what I thought was the torque...not sure it's critical on these plugs.
I like it to be spot on don't like inbetweeners , I hate bolt which have been overtightened and then they don't budge when you want to remove them.
You might have to resort to the old method of a ring spanner, measure the length then use a spring balance after doing the maths for the spanner wrench.....messy but cheap.
Thanks bud these firms are all in the states it will make the cost prohibitive not to mention the custom duties and shipping cost.
I appreciate the links and suggestion if all fails then I may have to buy gear off them, but that will be the last resort. I going to collar a snap on van man who comes close to my place of work and see if they have a wrench in their bluepoint range.
Good stuff. Hopefully you can get one that isn't out of the question in relation to price. Thought I also seen them on toolshopdirect.co.uk but they were crazy money. Good luck with it.
That's the one but look at the price Stahlwil 730n Torque Wrench 20-100nm, STW730N10 at Tool Shop Direct
naah not me..I do like things to be perfect, I am a fastidious when it comes to procedure. Do it but do it right no half glass measures. I think I will go for a couple version of crows foot spanner as suggested by Doc, if I can modify one to work in the confined space then we can avoid the purchase of a new torque wrench.
