hey @Kurt 1987 I mean if you have the head off already the world is your oyster, you will have to take the cams out and springs/retainers etc so you could theoretically build the whole head and port polish it to make it nice and solid(and gain some power).

After that you would be best changing the timing belt.

Honestly it depends alot on how much you wish to spend and what you want the engine to do.

Hey pete, heads already off and is running turbo set up with forged bottom end.head was stock before had valve issue.was hoping to just do the valves and valve seals new gaskets and belt etc again lol.is it a case of using the valve compressed tool and replacing the valves or would there be more work needed engineering wise not really anywhere near me in eastmidlands that can find who specialise in that sort of stuff.advice again much appreciated
    Thanks kurt

Valves and valves stem seals will get you going again.

It's a question of whether you want to make any mods whilst everything is open. You say you are running turbo setup and that the stock head had a valve issue, now is probably a good time to go for a stronger set of valve and perhaps a set of springs too. As mentioned by Pete, you could look at getting the head ported and polish to improve the flow. Of course, all this costs time and money. If you just want to get here going again as she was, then yes, just valves, valve stems will do.
