** HELP NEEDED * broken engine mount out of block

    need to drill out the snapped bolts and retap the threads 2 bolts have snapped the other pulled itself out with the threads


    1. can i do this with the engine in ?


    2. i thought i may be able to undo the rear mount and jack the engine around the other mount to gain access.? (just an idea)


    3. anyone wanna help in hatfield/ herts

    my apologies it is the left hand "nearside" mount

    so the timing side mount ?


    i would think you would need then engine ot there is not alot of room there

    yeh mate me and jonndogg just had a look at it pretty tight for space!


    engine is gonna have to come out but im at uni so its a bitch

    1. yes no reason you can't you just need to look for as much space as possible!


    2. more than likley i'd do something similar if i had limited resources but personally i would put a jack under the gearbox, undo all the engine mounts and use an engine hoist to bring the left hand side of the engine up and drop the gearbox side by lowering the jack (be very cautious when doing this! take your time to observe how things are moving or have someone else keep an eye on things as you move the engine) this should then give you enough of an angle so that you can work with easy acess!
