Hello guys i have been offered a very very cheap Prelude. I have been looking into putting the h22 into my EK. I would go for the h2b and probably use a QSD kit.

Anyone have any experience with the swap or what power you can make etc ? Videos and photos would be nice

I know h22's from ATRs along with a H2B conv are absolute animals

is the h22 from a lude worth it?

It's worth it as long as it's actually a good engine!

The few occasions my A7 worked it was fucking yampy

eg6civic has a few videos in his? i was going to build my h2b, ended up scraping the idea and going turbo instead

EG6CIVIC had a ATR engine in his H2B

    Jap spec Prelude yes!

Uk spec Prelude, tis okay. Nice torque, but you'd get more power from a b18c

Think it's just a uk Prelude. But once iv got the base sorted. Can build something else up

a h22 would tramp a b18c any day even with the b18c having mods

That's one reason why I sold my b18c and went h2b

It's either this or d series turbo. Iv just found out that lude is only the 2.0 model. But you can pick one up cheap enough anyway. So I think it's what I'll go for

The 2.0 engine from a Prelude probably won't be a hseries so won't work with h2b kit. A JDM h22a will be worth it, h22a7 is the best h22 to go for but probably cost 2-3 times the amount of a h22a

Either way h2b will kill a b18c and some d-series turbo

i don't see the point in buying a h22a7 there way over priced

That engine will struggle to outdrag this.

Interesting, thinking of doing this myself, just gotta say though, I've had more than my fair share of Preludes UK and JDM and there really isn't much in it performance wise. The extra power assumes jap spec fuel.

On that subject, jap spec Preludes are criminally cheap up here in the north east, I've bought them for £300 before, would there be everything in that needed to convert into a 1.4 EK?

Just pointing out I wouldn't use the 2.0 from the Prelude i would get a h22. My route is this or d series turbo

D Series turbo's are mega fun. All I know is that H22's or H2B's can be hard to maintain as their sump sits extremely low so it is pretty risky.

Believe me, you would not be disappointed with a D Series turbo at all. A lot of oomph from little cubic capacity!
