    Hi guys,

Thought I would finally post up a build thread since I have some free time out of the office for once!

How it looked when I bought it - totally standard '96-spec JDM DC2:

As some of you know, I smashed her at Knockhill in April 2008.

    The crash Vid:

The car was freshly imported by ourselves, and my (biggest) mistake was taking it onto the track with STD brakes and shitty Jap-spec OEM tyres!

    Aftermath:

More to follow, just trying to get the hundreds of pics i've taken along the way into some sort of order!!

So we got her back to the unit and started stripping (the car that is!)

The chassis damage wasn't actually that bad - bent chassis leg which could have been jigged.

However, a mint '96-spec shell came up for sale (thanks MikeCRXSiR!) and we soon had two Teg skeletons sitting in the Funky Power warehouse (hadn't built the garage & bodyshop next door at that time!)

So we swapped most of the parts from the STD Teg over to the new shell, fitting upgrades all along the way!

    Next-up, chassis prep:

With suspension all built up onto the new shell, we decided to try our hand at seam-welding critical chassis points while the shell was all bare:

All welds were polished up with the grinder and then seam sealer brushed on top to control rust.

Finally, the entire inside was sprayed with textured grey Stone-Guard to give a nice uniform appearance and hide all the imperfections!

The inner shell was then sprayed satin black.

So now we had a decent looking rolling shell, it was time to start building up the rest of the jigsaw...

There was Integra guts lying ALL OVER the new garage, so couldn't wait to free up all that space!

    Parts to go on:

thankfully Knockhill is the only race track I know of with no sound restrictions for the majority of private track days!

Besides, we now manufacture custom stainless exhausts so we could always weld-in some silencers if the Spec II gets to me!

The noise is immense, and will be even crazier once these babies are fitted:

    OK, time for spraying!!

Went for an Alfa Romeo Nero black - which is a nice pure black without any sparkly nonsense! 8)

Couldn't decide what to do about wheels - so we painted the OEM '96 rims in the meantime - the same Alfa black and Milano Red.

    Almost finished:

We're going to fabricate a rear diffuser for it out of aluminium, and the mirrors & grille are being painted Milano Red too.

Then I can sticker her up and take her out to play!

There you have it, not bad for a day's work! (I WISH!)

    Hey Gary,

yeah - just goes to show that I wouldn't sell anything that I wouldn't feel safe putting on my own car!

Nothing wrong with D2's if they are fitted correctly and looked after.

Are those obx itb's?? they look similar!

    135
yeah, OBX ITB's - the kit is based around OEM Toyota TB's so quality aint bad.

They need a bit of work to get them running decent, so been doing my research!
