Has anyone successfully fitted a frequency extender to an Elysion?
If so how easy was it?
I have one ready to fit, the struggle of getting the head unit out as so far put me off as all the skirting needs to be removed first
I’m looking at having this done and also fitting a DAB and Bluetooth unit. I’d normally do it myself as I enjoy tinkering, but I can’t find the time at the moment. I think I will get a local ICE engineer to do it.
Which frequency extender did you go for?
Mine is similar to this one
FM Band Expander Frequency Converter Shifter for Japanese Import Car Radio | eBay
What about this?
That’s exactly what I’m looking at. Halfords sell them too, and apparently fit them for £30. I’d be interested to see if they could manage to fit it.
I suspect that they wouldn’t hardwire it and just use the fm adapter.
You would have probably have to get an ICE specialist to fit it properly.
I imagine you’re right. Although it would be very easy to wire it into the 3rca inputs by the arm rest, I’d prefer it properly hard wired. I’m going to visit my ICE guy on Monday afternoon if I can sneak away from work early.
Grrr. Looks like the navi system is shot!
It’s a hit or a miss if it fires up. Then sometimes it behaves itself and other times it just goes completely and no radio or anything.
I thought it was a loose connection but when I turn the ignition on you can hear the hard drive whirring and screeching the initial screen will pop up and then all will go blank. Just as well I don’t rely on the reverse camera!
I kind of knew that there might be a problem with it as it was sold as not working but I had my fingers crossed.
Back to plan “A”.
The dash adapter and a double din stereo.
At least I will get some beats in my fun bus!
