    yep yep

    but don't do it .

it costs alot more than you think, and isnt as simple as you think.

for one, you have to buy an adjustable cam gear.

you have to buy all new service parts

EG cambelt kit, headgasket, headbolts, inlet/exhaust manifold gaskets.

    you basically have to spend

i would agree with pitty. Go b16. But disagree with everything else. I ran a minime with standard cam gear, and only bought a new headgasket and z6timing belt. But all other gaskets were ok to start with. Add VTEC wires and off you go. I ran it on a standard p28 and it ran fine for me for 8months. It has ran fine in my mates car for the last 2years. But it is easier to do a bswap

i changed most gaskets as i got a whole set for cheaep from a autoquip place that im good friends with

but yeah i was a bit stupid and did it on a block that had covered 138k.

but i checked the bores and the piston rings werent loose , so i carried on.

and the timing wouldn't go right at all.

just a lot of hassle really.

and i speant alot on the head to begin with as i bought one that had uprated valve springs and retainers, port+polish and it had had a headskim.

    but i regret it majorly.

the ammount i speant on donig the minime, loosing hours at work due to not having a car, petrol picking up the d15b after, buying the d15b, service parts and missing time at uni...

i couldve had a B16a2 in my car, probably with a fair exhaust and VTi brakes.

oh well, can't look back

oh and you really won't be impressed with a d16z6.

they aint too quick, d15b's are much more aggressive

and use less petrol but produce more power

Agreed, i sold my minime engine cos i bought a d15b instead, tis a awesome engine, would have been cheaper to go b16 to start with, but its good to see people's face's when they discover your only rocking SOHC.
