I was under the impression it was just to do with the age of the car

My cousin insured his 2nd Generation Escort under classic insurance and i think he was 18

Classic cover qualifying criteria will vary but usually it is reserved for those aged 30 or over, must be a second car, limited mileage, no or few modifications, garaged etc

You'd need to be at least 23 for us to quote on a classic policy I'm afraid and it would need to be a second car with limited mileage.

Some places won't let you build no claims on a classic policy too.

Most classic policies do not accrue NCB

Is a 1992 EG Civic old enough for a classic policy? Im 25 and have one as a 2nd car that I wanna start using every so often but has alot of modifications and is kept on a driveway...

It's probably old enough but some insurers will want it to be garaged rather than on a drive. The best thing is to give us a call and we'll have a look around for you once we have all the details.

Again, why make this statement whilst you have a terrible track record for insuring young drivers with "high performance" cars?
  11. Couldn't agree more...

You wouldn't insure me anyway. It's only a vti i'll probably have to be around 50 to get a decent quote

...because he's asking about a classic policy, which is rated differently. We have a new classic insurer on board - can't say whether they'll be any good until we have the member's details obviously.

can't insure a modified import at my age unfortunately you guys said! Adrian Flux can with everything declared for under £500!

Bump here, I've just been offered a 88 Scirocco GT (as a gift!), would this be eligible for a classic policy as insurance for everything else is completely extortionate

My rx7 is a 99 and that comes under a classic policy with adrian flux

It's certainly on our classic vehicles list. If you're over 23 please give us a call.

Classic Insurance is all about you more so than the vehicle, EG usually it needs to be a second car, limited milage, garaged, no or few mods etc.

Classic policies are not the be all and end all, have a look at a limited mileage policy, feel free to get in touch, tel: 01707 642552
