Aftermarket Kit changing sat nav head unit advice needed.

    well i have the original sat nav cd player in and apparently the latest update disc is 4 years old,
    no good to me at all so need to change it- but on reading up it looks like i cannot just take it out and put
    another unit in, i have to get adapter cables ? anyone know what i need as there are millions out there ?

    any help appreciated thanks

    Any good car hifi specialist should be able to supply the adapters, and fit a new satnav system if necessary.

    Cheers sandy. Haven't thought of those places lol. Hopefully I can get leads there Monday but not paying there prices to fit something that simple :Smile:

    Generally speaking, head units such as those offered by Pioneer or Sony for example use a universal setup which adapts to the OEM loom.

    These are known as adaptor harnesses, generally they're available from eBay for about £15 and fit a number of different vehicles.
