    Dear All,
The cd player in my 08 EX-CDTi (SAT NAV) will no longer play cds. It says "focus error" when you try to play cds. Everything else works in the headunit. I have tried two different cd lens cleaners with no luck, Has anyone else had this problem and how have they managed to resolve it?
    Thanks in advance.

I think @agadza is having trouble with music CDs not the Sat Nav DVD ??

Yes, all original CDs that used to play with no problems.
Things I have tried include a disc cleaner, a lens cleaner and taking off the battery for 30 min.s in a bid to get the player to reconfigure

So original CD play but home made don't and you get that error?

No CDs play at all, both original and copied.

@agadza - I had a similar error (it just said 'error' or 'no disc' when loading CDs) on my home hi-FI Marantz CD player last year, and it needed a new laser.

Then potentially the laser is kaput and you will need that replacing.

I'm guessing that the unit is either Alpine or Pioneer, so try and find a local Alpine or Pioneer repair place, call them and ask them about it.

I used a local hi-FI shop to repair mine - albeit not an in car unit - but you would have thought either somewhere like that or a car audio place as @SpeedyGee suggests should be able to sort it out.
