Guru has got the up there!

Hard to pick a top three, but lyrically I like j cole, lupe fiasco, kanye, nas, jay z, common, kid cudi, talib kweli. It's too hard to choose.

EDIT: Also worth looking up an MC called O.C. he's pretty damn good.

i don't really like rapper dudes, they make me sad because they sing so fast, i don't know what they are saying.

    Rakim/Nas/Common

also, i wouldn't really consider him an MC, but jay-z has some RIDICULOUS lines. i know he's mainstream as fuck and pretty much the biggest rapper to ever do it, but some of his lyricism is incredible

What about British mc's? The likes of jme, flowdan, ghostpoet, sway, Wiley even Craig David... Obviously their older stuff which wasn't mainstream

As for Americans, twista, immortal technique, krs one... Ahh so many, I could go on

lol what? uk hip hop is bigger than its ever been at the mo, just very underground i suppose. grime steals the limelight what with all the bollox over the radio but thats just the way music works.

infact, the boom bap festival last month has proved how big the uk scene now is, a festival dedicated to ukhh representing all aspects of the hip hop culture from mc's , turntablism, b-boys etc etc. jme is not uk hip hop
