So because a band is popular it discredits their music ?

And then this thread is"Best albums you've ever listened to" so if GNR is one of the best albums they have listened to wtf has it got to do with what genre it is. They never said it was the best album ever so your potato analogy is completely wrong.

I'm not a huge fan of GNR but they have some catchy songs.

I really liked the Underoath albums.

This threads about what albums YOU love, not about being popular or trying to be underground or whatever. I mean FFS one of my favourites is by Blink182.

I personally also wouldn't consider a album less than 5 years old as a all time great as you may love an album now but think it's shit later on. The great stuff takes you back even 20 years after release and still sounds great.

On that note, American Idiot by Greenday. Definitely a record for the time of what was going on in the world, still sounds great today and I hope to see the opera of it too

Incredible album, easily one of my favourites too. It still sounds as fresh today as it did when I first heard it all those years ago.

D3MENT3D - Judging by the last line in your OP I'm guessing you're open to suggestions for new stuff to listen to too. Based on your tastes, the following might be up your street:

    Millencolin - Pennybridge Pioneers

    The Falcon - Unicornography

Rise Against - Siren Song Of The Counter Culture / The Sufferer & The Witness

Lagwagon - Let's Talk About Feelings

Band Of Horses - Everything All The Time / Cease To Begin (You may or may not like them, but iTunes Genius seems to think they go well with The Strokes)

Cheers Stu, and yes I'm looking for some new stuff to listen to as I just end up going back to the same stuff over and over again

TBH i find threads like this just an excuse to try and prove how diverse they are by same a random album no one has heard of is there favourite, when in reality it is uttery full of filler and maybe one or tracks that are just about acceptable

Personally i have failed to find a single album id say I like all the way through, Jay Z's - Dynasty comes close, but im sure other than "best of's", many will share this same thought
