    Iridium NGK plugs

    Short Shifter

    Tanabe lowering springs

    Removed spare wheel.

    It was 124 WHP

    cam's injectors springs retainers remap
  3. LIMER Valued Contributor ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆

you can do loads of things pistons cams remaps as said above

it's just how deep are your pockets personally i'd opt for bigger despalcement now youve already done the best mods for the best horsepower and if you want alot more you'll be spending a shit load of money for minimal amounts assuming it still has the b16 in it

    thanks EG-vtec23 & Limer,

well i don't want to be spending the same amount of money i already have to get to this stage.

    1. Cam's

    2. injectors's

    3. Springs

    4. Retainers

    5. Pistons

I have listed like that, just so you can confirm there are five things which have been listed.

Out of the five, is there one of them i can do on its own or would i need to do all at once.

    Yes its the B16a2 engine.

Also for each, what sort of costs are involved?

Also you mentioned a displacement, do you mean change the whole engine? If you mean this, what engine would i buy which would vastly improve on what i had without having to spend any money on it?

TBH the best thing to do is to do a B20 VTEC swap, concidering you have most of the bits needed for the conversion, and it will cost a lot less than the upgrade parts meantioned to do it

    hi al9955,

do you know what i would need to order? where from? how much?

    hope you can help?

yeah its not really worth playing with the 1600 too much! either b20 or b18 mate

    hi hondavtec,

    so b20 or b18.

all the parts listed in my spec list, are newly bought this year.

if i was to get the b20 or b18, can i use all the parts?

also where would you buy one from? which is best engine? etc etc

    I also wouldn't bother with the B16.

Either an engine swap or bottom end swap, personally for me I would be looking at selling all your B16 bits, putting the engine back to standard, speaking to a reputable garage and getting a trade in deal on your standard B16 for a JDM B18C which will give you 197 reliable OEM horses, LSD short ratio box and a fast little car. Depending on where you live there are a few garages that can do this for you on here

Unless of course you can do the work yourself

If you have the knowledge then as i just pm'd you get a larger disp bottom end like b18 or b20. don't bother tuning the 1.6 anymore its pretty much hit its limit with the mods u have
  11. Ash-310 Club Veteran ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

yeah same x2 thats what i would do!!
  12. Ash-310 Club Veteran ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

well if you want a ready package then a b18cR mate as it has a good LSD box but with a b20 you would have to use your non LSD box or simply buy one which is between

Hi and thanks for the decent response,

i live in manchester and luckily for me the guy up the road re-builds engines all day long so i know he can do it on the cheap.

so best solution would be to swap the engine complete as u said.

When you say bottom end swap, what would that involve and how much would it cost and what extra BHP would i see?

  14. jordan-097 Junior Member ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

    hi mate,

yes got your pm, wanted to know about the bottom end swap. only because it sounds like the cheaper route.

even though i don't think i will give me the most power, what sort of gains do you think i would get?

I agree. For someone without the tools and knowledge to do the work themselves and limited to a small budget - it is the best option. It will also enhance the car's value more than any other tuned engine would.

I also live in Manchester, which garage is this?
  17. jordan-097 Junior Member ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

no business garage, just a good size garage attached to a house. the guy has a tuned skyline and his bro got a ek4 he is building up. but they also got kit cars and alsorts.
  18. Bong Guest

Ah ok, not many Honda specialists around Manchester unfortunately
  19. jordan-097 Junior Member ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

captain slow, are you saying don't do anymore work to car as it is?

    thanks mate
