As the title says, latest 2020 maps are now available via Garmin Express.
Thanks Pete. Seems like only 2 or 3 months ago I got the 2019 version.
Yes, it was only a few months ago that a post mentioned that an update was available, after checking I'd already got that update.
Not installed it on mine as of yet, but downloaded and latest camera file in place for installing tomorrow. Hope a lot of wrong roads are corrected but after reading some comments it seems like the M1/A50 junction near Birmingham is still not fully on. Hope they are wrong and it is there.
Updated mine easily the other day. Be interesting to see what happens next year as I believe this is the 3rd of the 3 free updates I got when I bought the car.
Once again, thanks Pete for keeping us updated.
Thought you got 5 years of updates. Check on Garmin Express it shows your end date.
Thanks - will do.
Can't find any mention of an end date on GE.
One interesting thing (but hardly Earth shattering) about the updated map is that it used to show BP petrol stations as such with the BP logo but now they are just shown with the non-descript blue petrol pump sign. I wonder if BP had some sort of commercial arrangement with Garmin that has now ended.
Apart from that everything seems the same as it used to be.
I'm pretty sure that junction isn't fully done, still...the whole area is a bit of a mess, even at the best of times.
Since updating the route planning is terrible.
Went to an address the other day and it wanted me to turn left at a roundabout and then route me down a narrow lane and along narrow tracks to the destination. Turning right at the roundabout then left (on normal roads) took me straight there. 5 mins against sat nav 10. Useless. If didn't know the area then could have caused major problems.
Anyone else noticed odd routing?
Last week mine took me to a housing estate at the back of a well known DIY store instead of the store itself. I put it down to a postcode quirk because when I put the name of the road in it took me straight there.
So is the Honda sat nav just Garmin then?
Does the manual in the car tell me how to do the update?
Yes, Honda sat navs are Garmin. If you download Honda Garmin Express (simple Google Search) it tells you how to download the updates but you may well have to pay if it wasn't included when you bought the car (usually new).
