    First on the list for our new family ride, was a nice set of alloy wheels. Two reasons for this ;
    1. Wheels make a car.
    2. X3 of the tyres were almost shot on the original 16" sport wheels.

    So, MAZDA RX8 18" alloy's were sourced for the FR-V (cheaper than buying x3 tyres needed for the original 16" alloys!)
    They came with x2 brand new tyres and two almost new ! (I then ordered some £5.00 spigot rings for a snug fit)

    Cleaned, and ready to go on once the spigot rings arrive....

    Well, spigot rings arrived and fit nicely into the Mazda alloys, dropping the bore down to the correct size for Honda fitment.

    I also ordered some Honda centre caps, can't be having Mazda badges on the wheels !!

    Quick run out to Tesco (5 miles away) to ensure it drives as it should, with no wheel wobble etc. I must state - the car feels a lot more planted, and has improved the handling a fair amount, hit a rough spots in our glorious UK roads on the way there and back and felt no worse than on the 16" alloys - RESULT.

    Glad I fitted the Honda centre caps, only the keenest of motor heads will know they are RX8 alloys? I think they suit the car well...

    My wife is OCD clean, and the worn (100k) gear knob was a little tatty, so ordered a nice Mugen gear knob - which arrived today.

    Decided to nip out this evening and fit, feels lovely in the hand and is nice and heavy giving a good feel when changing gears...

    One of my pet hates - used car dealer plates or stickers. (hate seeing nice new motors with the big yellow ARNOLD CLARK rear window sticker on! and the likes)

    This car has only had 3 previous owner, was a Honda Demo car, then the first proper owner from then (2005) till 2015 when it was traded in at a used car dealer in York, where the owner I purchased the car bought it from. Its got 80% Honda service history, and is a nice clean example and our first Honda family car ! Anyway, I digress - it had some terrible number plates on, so ordered some fresh plates and Honda surrounds to fix this issue (of mine lol) tonight I got around to fitting them...

    Ahhh, that's better !
