It was a great judgement call to get the petrol 2l.mine arrives early April in Zimbabwe. can't wait to drive it.
How do I add more pictures, I can't see a way to add my garage?
Missed this question. You need to click on Edit and then add pictures using the buttons at the bottom of the page.
Spot on with the code Paul.
Just checked the VIN and its JHMBE3*** so I guess I got the engine code right?
You're engine code is actually K20A9. If it *was* a K20A2 (Civic Type-R engine) than man you'd have one fassstt FR-V
I have the wrong engine code I'm sure as she's not an import. Its the 2L petrol with manual transmission (can anyone help with the engine code?). When we bought her recently we did consider the 2.2 diesel however decided against it for the following reasons. Our budget was 3K and the 3 + 3 configuration suited us to the ground (we have 3 young girls), for this money mileage would be around the 100k mark. After owning other turbo diesels we were well aware of the 'extra' components that could potentially be troublesome. For example turbo's, DPF's, egr valves etc. We weighed up the additional cost in fuel against the possible future problems a turbo diesel may bring, we decided the vtec petrol was right for us.
Of course that's not to say every diesel is going to be problematic, after all our petrol could suffer from catastrophic engine failure at any point but we felt an engine of this age and mileage would be more reliable in the petrol variant.
Saying that we've had a small list of things to remedy, including new rear brake and pads alongside a new rear caliper. Last week I changed a front drop link and have some rear ARB bushes to install when I have the time.
Overall we are extremely happy with the Honda, even the father in law sold his girly 206cc in favour for a petrol HR-V - I would say that's a good call!
Great cars FRVs. Do tell us more (and post more pics please).
K20 engine, is she an import ?
We need more picture pretty please. That number plate is worth keeping Paul if the CR-X ever came back which it will its the perfect number plate.
